How was the {Dev}School experience?
I found out about the {Dev}School program from an online ad and I decided to apply because I was sure it would be an exciting experience. Courses were divided into two sessions a week, Java and AngularJS. It was an intense learning experience. Basically, over the course of the 8 weeks, the trainers helped us level up our programming knowledge; they also acted as mentors, being highly involved in our development. For sure, we learned many new things.
What does {Dev}School offer to a student?
{Dev}School is an opportunity to learn new things. I like the way the information was presented in a structured format and I was able to interact with new technologies and improve my software development knowledge. Also, the ING trainers were really well prepared.
How’s life at ING?
I like working at ING. I am surrounded by a diverse team; all are intelligent and friendly people. I’ve been encouraged to stretch my capabilities, improve my knowledge and develop new skills. No day is ever the same and this makes my experience here very enjoyable. For example, I’m part of the Home’Bank and even though it has been on the market for some time, we’re constantly adding new features.
Working at ING had been a learning journey that I hope will continue and will keep on making me develop both personally and professionally.
How would you explain your role in ING to a 10-year-old?
I would tell him about how his parents gain time by not having to go to the bank for various operations. Through Home'Bank, they can do the operations from home and therefore spend more time together.
If you were to save the world with an app…
An application that counts the number of charity acts / planted trees / recycled plastic etc. per individual or community. Local and global goals are included and together we are acting in the right direction.
Let’s say you wrote your first SF book. What would you call it?
