Walk us through your career path in ING

I joined ING Romania 2 years ago in the role of Chapter Lead.  Now I am in charge with the entire Corporate DWH area as IT Area Lead.  Within Corporate Data Warehouse we create the foundation for a data driven organization.

How it’s Life @ ING? (especially from a learning experience point of view)

My favorite project was one of adopting an RPA solution in an IT department. It was a learning experience because I have worked with at least 5 different departments (Security, Risk, Ops and IT) to define the context and the implications of implementing a software robot. This solution had to improve an IT process up to 20%, a process which had to be automated, not eliminated. I learned very quickly how agile it is to use such software and how fast you can build a software robot. It took us less than a week to finish it.

How would you explain your role as a Chapter lead to a 7year-old?

I would compare data with the fish in the water. You can find them in small rivers or larger rivers and some of them in the sea. My job consists in helping fish to move from one river to another and, when needed, I create dams to protect them or I widen the riverbed so that more fish can pass. When we reach to the sea, we take our boats and admire the most beautiful fish.

If you were to recommend ING to a friend, what would you say about the organisation?

In ING your voice matters, you get the support to turn your ideas into actions, having full responsibility for it. That`s how the feeling of satisfaction at the end of a project becomes a motivating element to continue, to want more, to be a step ahead. Promoting ideas and cultivating creativity is part of our values, people`s passions are very diverse, and the collaboration is constantly supported. I think people make the difference and you can easily notice their dedication and their involvement in projects.
