Our colleague, Alina Ceban, Finance Trainee at ING Bank Romania, shared her experience since joining ING International Talent Programme.
Tell us more about what you’re doing now
In October 2020, I joined the ING team as a Finance Trainee. Since then I had the chance to explore more the Finance Business Partnering and Change & Governance teams’ activity. Even though I’ve worked remotely due to the current context, the team is always willing to help me to understand better their activity.
In addition to the work I do locally, I am also part of a global project together with other trainees from the program. We joined the Transaction Services Sustainability project, with its scope to create a new sustainable product or identify how an existing product can be more sustainable. This was a challenging and useful project: while working with many people, with different expertise, skills, and backgrounds, I had the chance to learn a lot about this domain. Moreover, I got very close to colleagues from different countries.
Why ING International Talent Programme?
This program is a challenging learning experience. Besides the trainings part of it and the learnings acquired in my day-to-day job, you have the chance to obtain important qualifications for the Finance domain (e.g. CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) etc.).
After finishing my studies, I wasn’t sure what career path to pursue and this program got my attention because of its diversity when it comes to exploring different areas and domains.
I was also attracted by ING’s culture and global presence. Coming back to Romania after 3 years studying in the UK, I wasn’t sure how things will work out, but now I am surrounded by open and friendly colleagues.
If you were to convince someone to join this experience, what would you say?
I do not think there is much convincing to be done. All my friends know that this is a great experience and I am very proud to be part of this community.
