As you get better at your job, your work becomes even more interesting and enjoyable. At ING, you take responsibility for your own personal development and your career path. Building your professional competence is part of that: honing your skills and inventiveness and expanding your network in preparation for the next step in your career. At ING, we offer you all the tools and opportunities you need.
Purpose
At ING, we believe that you can only make a difference when you understand what drives you from within and how you can turn that into effective action – both professionally and personally. That’s why we’ve started the ‘Purpose to Impact’ programme within ING. It helps ING employees to discover, and subsequently be guided by, their purpose. Once you have found your purpose, it will help you to make decisions that suit you, to set yourself goals and to develop your craftsmanship.
Online Learning
Learning is never finished... and if a treasure trove of knowledge is available in a variety of formats, whenever it suits you, then learning can be great fun too. ING’s online learning platform provides access to our own extensive educational offering as well as countless articles, videos, training courses and more from external sources. And because it’s a ‘smart’ platform, the suggestions are increasingly personalised (just like on Netflix) in line with your previous activities. You can even share your own knowledge on the platform too.
Temporary assignments within ING
If you are keen to broaden your horizons and explore new opportunities, a short-term or long-term assignment (STA or LTA) can be an interesting option. STAs and LTAs are temporary assignments within ING that last between three and 12 months. You can do an STA/LTA either in the Netherlands or in another ING country. A temporary assignment is the ideal opportunity to work on your own development, broaden your experience and discover and strengthen your talents.
Hackathons and bootcamps
Are you looking for an adrenaline-fuelled way to gain lots of knowledge and become better at your job in a short space of time? ING regularly organises local and global hackathons and bootcamps related to various topics. During a bootcamp you’re challenged to devise and develop smart new ideas, while a hackathon is a 24-hour session in which multidisciplinary teams compete to produce the best end-to-end solutions for our customers. One thing’s for sure: you emerge full of new knowledge and inspiration!
Stories
ING colleagues share their stories and their purposes.
