Acting as a truly strategic partner to the business, you’ll be challenged to be critical by asking the right questions to understand business processes and assess potential risk areas. You’ll need to demonstrate data fluency and be able to apply risk categories and considerations to new technologies and innovations ING develops or works with.

The compliance function is extremely versatile, challenging and complex and requires a deep understanding of the business and its entire regulatory environment. You work on both strategic and tactical solutions simultaneously using the same key risk indicators everywhere. Working in compliance means you have the opportunity to work at local, global and business segment levels, allowing you to liaise with all departments and geographies within the bank.  

Legal

All of ING’s legal-related business lines provide legal support and advice to all departments. The Legal department makes an active contribution to ING’s strategy by fostering stable and healthy organisational growth. As a financial institution, ING is monitored by external regulators and other supervisory bodies. The bank also takes the necessary steps internally to ensure that it stays within the boundaries of the legislation and regulations.

As ‘partners in business’, ING’s paralegals work very closely with bankers and risk managers to ensure that the bank’s activities take place under optimal conditions and with minimal risk.
