ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory (“CMA”) franchise serves as ING’s global investment banking centre of excellence to provide boardroom advice to our clients across our core focus sectors, and to support them in their strategic ambitions with M&A advisory, financing capacity, underwriting and Capital Markets services. The ING WB/CMA/CF/Financial Institutions Advisory team in Amsterdam is looking to hire a Senior Analyst / Junior Associate. The team is responsible for the origination and execution of M&A and other High Value-Added transactions within the Financial Institutions sector in close cooperation with other CMA and Sector departments including DCM, ECM and the Financial Institutions Coverage teams.

The team has built a strong track record of high-profile transactions and consists of c. 20 professionals in Amsterdam, London and Singapore with a focus on banks, insurers, fintechs and other financial institutions.

In this job you will play an active role in the origination, structuring and execution of transformational transactions for leading financial institutions and related companies.

Job description

  • Participate in the origination and execution of M&A and capital markets transactions for FI clients;
  • Execution of M&A, Capital Markets and other financial transactions (approval, structuring and closing) for FI clients;
  • Prepare financial models;
  • Conduct research, analyze and explain historical and projected financial information;
  • Prepare transaction and origination documents, including presentations and pitch books;
  • Prepare documents for transaction processing (a.o. legal documents, structuring papers);
  • Maintain active contacts with other departments / disciplines such as other FI Coverage and product teams, DCM, CF, ECM and Financial Markets.

Your profile and competencies

  • Some CMA/CF experience, ideally in the Financial Institutions sector;
  • Strong academic record, Master degree (preferably quantitative);
  • Strong commercial drive and persistency; eager to go “the extra mile”;
  • Fluent in Dutch & English (verbal and writing);
  • True team player, entrepreneurial mindset and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Detail-oriented, pro-active and self-motivated;
  • Excellent analytical skills, eye for detail and accuracy; and
  • Good representative of the team, both internally and externally.
