The team

You will find yourself amongst a team of Product Owners and Feature Engineers, that are responsible for the vision, strategy and roadmap for our Workflow Management area. You will work together with one or multiple squads, to build the global offerings and ensure that our consumers receive an excellent customer experience and service delivery every day. Working within our area, as part of ING’s Retail & Banking Technology department, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the platform thinking ideology, where we service our consumers from the central CTO domain by providing Pega and Camunda (workflow management tools) towards any application development team that wants to enable their business by building applications / workflows / journeys on top of our platform / service offerings.

Roles and responsibilities

As a Product Owner you will play a key role in driving the success of the Platform Strategy within our area, especially on INGs Pega Platform and new offering around Camunda. You will be involved in all platform related projects and be responsible for maintaining a very high quality standard. Next to that, your main focus will be in driving excellence and automation (e.g. Azure DevOps) with your own squad(s).

  • Defining and implementing the vision for the platform strategy of our services, especially regarding identifying and adopting changes for your own squad(s) with regards to innovation, time to market
  • Creating and ensuring the 'new' culture and one Agile Way of Working
  • Acts as an ambassador for culture change and serves as a role model
  • Stimulates cross-border interaction between people and squads
  • Responsible for stakeholder management and growth of both existing and new customers of the platform
  • Optimizing the off-shore setup to ensure that we are able to iterate faster. Primary locations for development are our SSI-partner in India, and ING Hubs Poland and Manila
  • Measuring customer satisfaction and improving customer happiness

  • Multiple years of combined Business and IT experience, preferably in Product Management role(s)
  • Multiple years of experience with agile way-of-working, preferably as Product Owner role for one or multiple squads
  • Preferably you have a strong technical background or affinity with PEGA and/or Camunda in multiple global implementations in the financial domain
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field
  • You are genuinely interested in and understand business and how our customers use our products
  • You have experience within (complex) stakeholder management environment
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • You have experience in line management of teams responsible for high criticality applications
  • Preferably, you have Engineering experience with topics like Azure DevOps, Ansible, automation, CI/CD, automated testing (frameworks), and many more.
  • You value a multi-cultured environment where English is the working language and you easily get on with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • You have excellent analytical skills
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and passion for and the ability to redesigning processes
  • You are able to achieve optimum results by empowering teams and giving them responsibility
