The Chief Operations Officer (COO) domain builds bridges within ING linking to almost every part of the bank. Its purpose is to drive secure, efficient processes for our customers and colleagues.

ING has a bank-wide COO organisation that's ready for the future, with scalable, seamless, digital, and resilient operations. COO identified three main ways to make the most impact:

  • Building a network organisation: more networking and cross-border collaboration.

  • Consolidating the organisation: share capabilities and services in locations where we can best embed these.

  • Digitalisation/straight-through processing: making our processes end-to-end to provide a seamlessly digital experience for our customers.

Global COO Finance (COOF) is an independent unit within ING’s COO domain, reporting hierarchically into ING’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and functionally into ING’s Chief Operations Officer (COO).

COOF is accountable for designing the global finance operations and technology strategy together with ING’s Tech organization, and optimising productivity and customer satisfaction to improve operational efficiency. It is accountable for executing ING Finance and COO strategy to evolve towards one global digital bank. The purpose of COOF is being the heartbeat of Finance, enabling excellence. Our mission is to enable excellence in finance with real time business insights, derived from state-of-the-art technologies, optimal use of data and highly effective operations.

Your job is to lead a number of squads within the product Management Accounting in the Tribe Management Accounting & Cost Management. You will lead the development, change, implementation and/or maintenance of the applicable finance applications within your product. You have an end-to-end strategic focus around your product and lead your squads in terms of clear prioritization, accountability and capabilities. The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end transformation responsibility. You work not only on delivery and on how we run a product, but also on creating a vision on how we improve our services, how we manage the business value and how we increase collaboration across functions.

You are responsible for the execution of all activities of your organisation located in The Netherlands, ING Hubs and with our SSI partners in India, including risk & control activities to remain in control of risks and keeping the bank safe. You do that by steering squads who work on a specific service by providing them with a strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders. The people (business analysts) who work in squads report to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship and you have continuous conversations about their career development. As a Product Lead you report hierarchically to the Tribe Lead Management Accounting and Cost Management.

The Management Accounting and Cost Management Tribe focuses on delivery of change initiatives impacting systems and services. Besides, the tribe is responsible for operating and maintaining these applications. The squads within the tribe are grouped into five (5) introduced products:

  • Cost Management: maintaining, supporting, improving, and onboarding target solution for cost management (PeopleSoft) including procurement activities, accounts payable, billing, internal charging, accounts receivable, asset management, cash management activities and cost accounting.

  • Customer Profitability: maintaining, supporting, and improving the globally used customer profitability tooling for Wholesale Banking (Value Reporter).

  • Cost Distribution: developing, maintaining, supporting, improving, and onboarding of a target cost distribution solution which provides cost models for internal charging (CostPerform).

  • Planning & Cost Allocation: maintaining and supporting planning and cost allocation tooling for management accounting and reporting (Hyperion planning & cost managment).

  • Management Accounting: maintaining, supporting, and improving the globally used management accounting tooling and developing a global target management accounting support system with cloud technology featuring local and global cost allocations and a single integrated data model for all entities of ING (Oracle EPM Cloud). The further development of this tool (data additions for better management information, seamless integrations, forecasting and planning abilities, better reporting functionality, taking over locally used management information tooling, etc.) is the focus for next years.

This product lead position focuses on the product “Management Accounting”.
