The team

The COO (Chief Operating Officer) and CTO (Chief Tech Officer) Finance team aims to support the Global COO/CTO organization to make robust business decisions based on our analysis and advices. The COO/CTO organization is at the core of delivering our strategy to build a leading digital bank. As approximately 40% of the cost base in ING is in our Tech and Operations this means you can truly make a difference. The COO and CTO Finance team is a small department, which will allow you to get exposure to senior managers of COO/CTO. The opportunity

The Finance Business Advice COO/CTO end-to-end team focusses on supporting the COO Staff Departments including the CTO part. This includes for COO: Data, Analytics and ODCR and both COO and CTO departments: KYC, Risk and Finance. These are services organizations delivering global services to Retail, Wholesale, Head Office and reporting directly to COO MBB. As Lead of the team you will manage directly 7 team members and besides managing the team you will also be responsible to give Finance Advice to one of the respective COO Staff Departments.

Your job purpose

Leads a team of experts, sets the standards for their expertise area and takes responsibility for developing, innovating and safeguarding knowledge in the field of expertise. Leads the process of setting business targets and coordinating the budget round, monitors business performance, advises on the financial consequences of major decisions, leads the process of reporting financial and managerial data, and makes recommendations targeted at improving and safeguarding financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Sparring partner for senior management in strategic and tactical decision making
  • Managing a team of finance professionals and being part of the Finance Business Advice MT.
  • Provide reports and analysis in a timely manner to support management decisions
  • Advise on all matters concerning operational efficiency, cost modelling, allocation, financial planning and control
  • Follow cost trends and adjust Rolling Forecast periodically
  • Perform run-rate analysis, advise on cost efficiency opportunities and prepare business cases for Change programs
  • Full control of costs (P&L) and FTEs, including the review & approval of requisitions, cost charging and analytical review
  • Maintain effective management of MA data-sources and monitor implementation of org. structure changes (i.e. Info Memos, RFAs)
  • Review and advise on Balance Sheet positions, including restructuring and litigation provisions, asset capitalization, amortization and impairment testing as/when required
  • Strong collaboration with finance colleagues, and non-finance stakeholders to ensure greater transparency, consistency, and insight

Furthermore, you have:

  • University (Bachelor’s/Master’s) degree
  • 5+ years of professional working experience in a relevant position such as Finance Business Partner, Business controller, or compatible
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of management
  • Organizational sensitivity and effective conflict management skills
  • Being pro-active and curious will help you to be successful in this dynamic environment.
  • Track record in a complex environment
  • Knowledge of operational excellence.
