The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, communicative Java DEV Engineer to strengthen us in Consumer Loans tribe. We are looking for engineer who is ambitious to work on decisioning projects catering in growth initiatives of consumer loans. This means thinking about, trying out and applying on new design and upcoming architecture. You will be joining Full stack chapter, In this chapter we deal with frontend and backend related applications used widely in various customer journeys of consumer lending.

You will work as a backend developer to develop a Robust, Scalable and Adaptive consumer lending environment to excel in commercial growth!  You also have strong knowledge and experience in designing, building and enhancing an application. You will be working with a team who believes in giving the best services to make credit decisioning seamless and instant.

The team is streamlined and autonomous and responsible for designing, building and developing services which requires you to contribute on overall solutions.

Performance, security and resilience are of utmost importance, as we will be serving a high number of customers with maximum availability. Most of our user interface & channels are responsive and work on different OS. 

The team

You'll join a fun team of highly skilled and inspiring people, from developers to customer journey experts united in our mission to build in Consumer Loans, work hard, and celebrate our successes. The team operates in a unique space – building an application which not only serves cross border customers, but also plays a key role in Credit Decisions and Instant Lending. This is the gateway team for many product tribes in the whole of ING.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field
• Already living in The Netherlands
• 5+ years hands on professional experience with Java
• Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
• Excellent knowledge of Java 11, Git, Maven
• Excellent knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot
• Experience in creating web applications, RESTful APIS
• Good skills in writing unit and integration tests using Junit and Mockito
• Knowledge of Micro-Services architecture, scalability, container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Good knowledge of relational databases, e.g. Oracle
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools, such as Azure DevOps
• Knowledge in Kafka, Cassandra, ELK is nice to have
• Is an excellent team player, great challenger, customer centric and eager to learn.
• Loves technology and naturally stays up-to-date on relevant innovations.
• Has great English communication skills, verbal as well as written. 
• Has experience and understand the benefits of the agile scrum methodology.
• You have a pro-active and hands-on attitude; you speak up about your ideas
