ING is looking for a Financial Risk Specialist to further role-out the risk management framework for Settlement Risk within ING's Financial Risk department.

The Financial Risk (FR) department is a head office function that sets and controls the financial risk strategy across the organization. The department provides strategic guidance on financial risk (in trading and banking books and related to the ING balance sheet), safeguards regulatory compliance, is the owner of risk models for banking and trading risk and acts as risk manager for Treasury activities globally.

The Team - Settlement Risk

The FR department has recently become responsible for the set-up of the portfolio risk management and analysis activities related to Settlement Risk. The Settlement Risk specialist will act as the Center of Expertise for this risk type. As Settlement Risk is closely related to Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk, and to the operational processing of transactions in the Financial Markets and Treasury domain, this function will be actively working together with respective departments.

Initially the Settlement Risk specialist will focus on the set-up of a risk function and risk management process that is compliant with external regulation and internal guidelines. As a next step, these activities will be embedded in the structural responsibilities of FR and be part of the ongoing risk management activities.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Center of Expertise on settlement risk

  • Global, functional oversight of settlement risk in ING Group

  • Coordination and steering towards locations and stakeholders (e.g. first line business, other risk functions, finance and operations)

  • Portfolio analysis of settlement risk exposures

  • Oversee regulatory reporting for settlement risk

The department has an open, informal atmosphere and a strong ‘getting things done’ mentality. You have the opportunity to keep learning, take on responsibility and challenge yourself. In return we'll invest in you and help you reach your true potential.
