Did you ever wonder how companies in the Netherlands do investments? ING Business Lending supports ten thousands of Dutch companies with lending products covering a total of around 60 billion of lending assets, so they can invest and grow their companies. While having lending assets, we also have collaterals and covenants in place to manage the risk of those lending assets. Are you the person to help optimize the management and monitoring of the collaterals and covenants supporting our clients while minimizing our risks?
Product Manager Collateral Management
We are looking for a product manager to expand our collateral management team. The team is responsible for the maintenance and development of products that assist in collateral management for our NL Business Lending clients (SME’s, MidCorps, Private Banking clients). The covers system contains collaterals, covenants, and sustainability data.
This is a role in a complex environment with many internal and external stakeholders and where there is a lot of room to develop for somebody demonstrating a proactive, self-learning approach.
As a product manager you are delivering and developing everything around covers as the center point between the market, clients, sales, and other internal parties such as Credit Risk, Finance, Compliance and IT. You will be the product owner of an IT team that manages some of the integral systems in this ecosystem. One of the major challenges in this role will be to own the introduction of the covers management product for ING the Netherlands and the migration from the current (legacy) Business Lending solution.
Role and Responsibilities
You will be part of a team (squad). Within this squad you will be working on highly diverse topics with a high degree of freedom of action. Every day is different and therefore your ownership is required to resolve all challenges in a timely manner.
Examples of responsibilities and what you do in this job:
- As a Product Manager of the collateral management team you are responsible for IT delivery; you manage the backlog items, make user stories, organize the sprints with the developers, and steer on delivery in time and with the right quality. You work closely with the engineers, both JAVA and Pega engineers;
- You serve as an important link between all the stakeholders and the development team. Making sure the right priorities are set, deadlines are met and communicated what is being worked on and what not;
- Driving the delivery of the new target covers system (Feniks); defining and prioritizing requirements and get the migration done in close co-operation with other Tribes and stakeholders,
- Communication around the migration towards stakeholders and users,
- Taking ownership of risk management related to the migration,
- Day to day handling of questions and requests related to the migration,
- Contributing to our product management vision, plans and execution.

Your work environment
The team is responsible for managing the system of record for all collaterals and covenants of Business Lending NL and in the end for whole ING the Netherlands. The market in which you will work is a professional and heavy regulated market. This requires continuous knowledge gathering and understanding of the market infrastructures and practices, developments, regulations etc. The teams operate from Amsterdam but has a global reach with engineers residing in Romania, The Philippines and India.

- You have several years of relevant work experience; for example as a product owner or other roles where you have worked directly with developers, IT, and data;
- You are confident and experienced with working with large amounts of data and databases.
- You have a master’s degree;
- You are analytical, interested in data and you have a good knowledge of excel;
- A financial background and knowledge of Business Lending is an advantage;
- You are flexible, enthusiastic, binding and you have a service and client-oriented attitude;
- You have a hands-on mentality, are a team player and are result oriented;
- You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals;
- You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions to problems;
- You work accurately, are highly organized and deliver high-quality work;
- You are a strong communicator and you speak and write fluent Dutch and English and have current residency in the Netherlands.
