FM eServices is a department within FM Business Management. Our purpose is to provide global market access to electronic trading venues to all global FM and Group Treasury (GT) hubs. This is achieved by centrally managing our market making and liquidity taking relationships. We enable venue trading in a controlled and compliant manner throughout the venue life-cycle. We aim to provide a smooth experience for onboarding and offboarding to electronic venues and services for internal and external clients. To that end, we hold the admin role to all venue access to secure least privilege access. The eServices department consists of a Centre of Excellence (COE) in Amsterdam and one execution location in Bratislava (Slovakia).

Job Description

As the Business Developer for Clearing & Post Trade Solutions, you are responsible for expanding, maintaining, and supporting FM’s portfolio of CCP access and related solutions from a front-office perspective. Our Global Treasury department will also be an extensive user of clearing services. You will act as Subject Matter Expert for BaU and implementation projects.

Clearing & Post Trade Process Ownership is an additional responsibility to the role. The process fulfilment largely does not fall in the remit of the front office but in Operations, Tech and Finance. Therefor it is important from an FO perspective to remain engaged with the process design, the process controls and to supervise the performance and results.

We ask for the job to entail both the offering of strategic input and defining the end-to-end processes as well as acting as central point of contact and process specialist.

Main roles and responsibilities:

As Business Developer and Process Owner you:

  • Asses the company’s needs for clearing solutions and its ability to meet those needs
  • Drive and own the Strategic FM Clearing agenda
  • Collect requirements from and give updates to internal stakeholders
  • Keep up with industry developments
  • Maintain relationships with existing and potential service providers
  • Identify opportunities in the products and services in the market
  • Prepare status reports on BaU processes and projects
  • Design the process flow and process controls
  • Monitor quality of process and quality of outcome
  • Supports FMGT Tribe Product Area Lead in setting clear priorities in collaboration with Business, IT and Support Functions
  • Estimate project and process impact in terms of capacity & knowledge
  • Coach and train teams and staff involved in delivery
  • Review and sign off on relevant documentation

As a Business Developer for Clearing & Post Trade Solutions you:

  • Have in-depth knowledge of clearing processes, as direct clearing member and through clearing brokers
  • Act as business owner for clearing and post-trade solutions. Contribute to ING FM growth ambitions through expanding and optimising our product portfolio and associated clearing infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities for reducing RWAs, compression of derivative positions and other balance sheet optimisation possibilities
  • Create and agree a strategic delivery roadmap for these initiatives in alignment with trading and the Tribe
  • Give input into implementation projects and lead process improvements
  • Are responsible for 1st line quality assurance, ensuring the output’s quality and the efficiency of throughput testing.
  • Are responsible for process compliance regarding internal and external regulations or policies, while also focusing on handling time (operational costs) and the agreement of our services with our (business) clients Financial Markets and Group Treasury.
  • Contribute to the development of craftsmanship – how the processes should be executed, in line with ING’s Orange Code
  • Challenge the status quo; recognize that solutions that were effective in the past may need to evolve to meet current challenges.

Your role as Process Owner is pivotal, especially when new requirements emerge, or enhancements are identified. You ensure the processes under your stewardship are effectively managed and continuously improved.

  • Self-starting and e-driven mentality, hands-on, pragmatic and able to support, explain and stimulate growth in others.

  • Strong organisational sensitivity: ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of an international organisation with multiple functional and hierarchical lines, dealing with multiple (sometimes conflicting) interests.
  • Strong capability to initiate and build long term sustainable stakeholder relationships.
  • The ability to display flexibility to teams and adapt the plan, approach and behaviour to different needs, cultures and situations.
  • A strong resilience: the ability to navigate through ambiguity and simplify complexity without losing essence.

Competencies and experience:

  • 10 Years working experience in the financial sector. Deeply familiar with the clearing process through memberships and brokers.
  • Experience with developing product road maps and creating buy-in for implementation.
  • Ability to convey strategic and operational guidance at senior and implementation level
  • Familiarity with EU regulation regarding Financial Market Infrastructure
  • Experienced in project management and business process design
  • Preference is given to candidates that have worked across locations, using remote support teams.
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint and able to present your work and ideas structured and clearly.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing) and experienced in working in an international environment.

Location

As the core team is situated in Amsterdam we would prefer to integrate a successful candidate with the wider team. Depending on expertise and seniority we will consider candidates for our London office.
