Product Management Payments & Cash Management (PM PCM) is responsible for the commercial performance of the payments & cash management products. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining a solid product governance, optimizing the commercial performance of the product suite and formulating a long-term view on how we evolve our product proposition, to remain relevant to our clients over time, in a highly competitive environment. That means taking market developments (informed by the sales organization and external input) and translating those into concrete requirements for product development and enhancements, as well as formulating a view on how the organization will commercialize the enhanced product proposition.

Contracting Expert

The goal of the Expert Team Contracting is to deliver clear, easy and harmonised contracts, simplify (contract) processes, advise Product Management and the Delivery Organisation and support TS Sales in complex negotiations. The Contracting team is a client facing team, therefore striking a balance between treating clients fairly and protecting the interests of the bank is essential. The team is a knowledge center within the organisation to ensure that TS staff have one point of contact and can rely on fast and high quality responses to legal and document related queries.

As Contracting Expert you will be working within a team of qualified Product Managers with Legal expertise and have a dual responsibility for;

Product management is responsible for contracts and agreements – you will be the centre-point between the market, clients, sales and internal stakeholders. The Contracting Expert signals market developments, client needs and commercial opportunities at an early stage, outside the boundaries of the existing (daily) operations, and turns them into opportunities. The Contracting Expert creates support with stakeholders within the company for the earlier mentioned initiatives and initiates them until decision making. Supporting customer contract negotiations - the scope here is primarily on the legal and product related risks faced by ING and to weigh up the risks vs. commercial opportunities and find a win- win agreement with the customer.

Your key responsibilities

As Contracting Expert:

• Reviewing, maintaining and updating standard contracts.

• Provide input in order to improve standard documentation and processes.

• Review of legal opinions and challenge status quo.

• Create support for initiatives from all stakeholders, take care of decision making and contractual requirements.

• Provide input on best practices for streamlined contract handling and processing.

• Support in customer negotiations and Deals.

Keep up-to-date and signal market developments, client needs and support in converting commercial opportunities and threats to products and policy.

• Supply the organization with relevant product, legal and market knowledge.

• You maintain contacts with stakeholders and external parties.

• You ensure compliance with ING’s policies and standards.

We are looking for an inspiring, approachable team member displaying the following behaviours:

Commercially minded and able to challenge and translate Legal topics into harmonisation and simplification of contracts and processes

• Have analytical skills and takes decisions based on data and facts

Proven track record and technical skills:

• Master in law preferably Dutch, English or Belgian law, although other legal jurisdictions will be considered.

• Minimal 5 years of working experience.

• Extensive experience with Legal issues.

• A personality and the capabilities to optimally function within a fast paced environment.

Experience/affinity with Wholesale Banking Product Area(s), Cash & Liquidity Management, international Account opening, digital channels.

• Excellent level of English.
