Team Mission

This position is located within the ING Global ORM Center (IGOC), part of the ING Non-Financial Risk & Compliance HUB, in Romania.

IGOC mission is to provide professional non-financial risk (NFR) management services towards ING entities globally.

The team of NFR professionals is working with a variety of internal stakeholders, in a multi-cultural environment, that provides the opportunity of gaining oversight on the non-financial risk practice, as well as the opportunity to further support the enhancement of the global control framework.

Your day-to-day

ING Wholesale Banking (WB) NFR is looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic Non-financial Risk professional. NFR WB provides a global segment, value chain and business line (BL) view by (i) aggregating and reporting on NFR risks; (ii) steering and sharing specific best practices and lessons learned; (iii) having oversight for BL specific NFR processes, including functional oversight of regional NFR teams within WB and managing functional reporting lines.

As NFR Specialist you will be part of NFR Wholesale Banking Central Coordination virtual team within the NFR WB department located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

You will report functionally to the WB NFR Central Coordinator/ WB NFR/ ING Bank N.V. Amsterdam and hierarchically to the NFR Lead/ ING Global ORM Center/ ING Hubs Romania.

Key responsibilities 

  • You will be the secretary of the WB Non-Financial Risk Committee, being in charge with:
    • agenda planning and minutes;
    • assurance that content is adequately challenged by the second line;
    • assurance that all matters that formally require Committee approval are tabled in a timely manner.
  • You will support the business line SOX coordination process;
  • You will be the data quality owner for WB NFR, responsible for proposing data quality standards and challenging the WB NFR teams to demonstrate continued adherence;
  • You will coordinate the second line inputs for all projects requiring reporting, assurance that the Lead Risk Managers deliver their inputs in a timely way.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • University degree;
  • 3-5 years work experience in Banking with a good understanding of NFR or other complex processes;
  • Proven track record interfacing with individuals from first and second line and delivering on time;
  • A good understanding of NFR or other complex processes, and a strong willingness to learn about non-financial risk and the underlying information being reported on;
  • Able to create oversight structures that enable the efficient delivery of the governance requirements of NFR;
  • Experience running multiple deliverables at once;
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken), including minute-taking, ideally in a process-driven or coordination role.
