Your role
As Senior Non-Linear Rates Trader, you will work closely with the other Financial Markets Trading and Sales teams to deliver client solutions and efficiently manage the risks linked to that business. Working closely with the Quantitative Development team, you will also be actively involved in IT / Front-Office system developments to improve operational efficiency.
Non-Linear Trading & Structuring is a client driven business with the mandate to trade non-linear and combination products in Rates, Credit, and FX and create solutions for ING’s clients, including Private and Retail Banking, Corporates, and Financial Institutions.
Your key responsibilities
Reporting Line and Communication
- Report to the Trading Desk Head where clear and transparent communication is expected.
Pricing, Execution and Risk Management
- Provide correct and competitive pricing for requests to internal and external customers, trading specific non-linear rates products within the product mandate, the fixed limits and required risk profile of the desk.
- Autonomously manage major positions, including managing non-routine deals and deals that are difficult to price, with a view to contributing towards desk profit targets and creating customer loyalty.
Operational Efficiency
- Involvement in IT / Front-Office system developments as operational efficiency, including standardisation / automation, is key.
- Contribute to development of new products in a prioritised manner by working closely together with Front-Office Quants and Developers
- Be aware of key regulatory developments and, together with FM Regulatory / Legal teams as well as with Business Management, understand the possible impact to business as well as possible opportunities

As a Non-Linear Rates Senior Trader you will also need:
- Strong educational results, ideally in Civil Engineering, Physics, Commercial Engineering or equivalent degree
- Proven experience in similar trading role
- Market expertise in Non-Linear Rates business, including Cap/Floor and Swaption products as well as the more complex Bermudan and CMS linked products
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong analytical background
- Effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Thinking out of the box
- Results-oriented and stress resistant
- Eye for detail and accurate in work
