Mission

The Risk Data Science  team  creates  the  optimal  credit  risk  models’  landscape  contributing  to sound credit risk management throughout the lifetime of the loans.

Your day-to-day

  • Responsible for IFRS9 and Credit Decision models lifecycle mainly for RB individuals, micro-companies, and SMEs, including:
    • Model development/calibration in an end-to-end manner (project scope & planning, data gathering, model estimation, documentation).
    • Sustain model implementation in the internal systems.
    • Monitor the performance of the models, interpret the results and pro-actively propose solutions for optimization.
    • Ensure compliance with the applicable governance and methodologies.
    • Ensure the pre-requisites for a smooth independent model validation process together with timely closure of related findings.
  • Propose a suitable cut-off architecture for the Credit Decision Models by ensuring the optimal risk-acceptance trade-off; conduct recurrent and ad-hoc portfolio analysis and segmentation to periodically identify good risk segments as well as high risk concentrations.
  • Support business process and credit production by performing client (pre)selection for various analysis of credit/customer data and behavior to support campaigns based on pre-defined criteria and according to the bank’s strategy.
  • Ensure data integrity & management in accordance with the role and applicable credit risk data related policies; work in close cooperation with related departments to ensure that key data properly collected and can be retrieved independently to provide accurate and transparent information to the management.
  • Ensure the automation of scripts and documentation of workflows to allow for fast and reliable retrieval of information.
  • Use advanced statistical methods like machine learning and artificial intelligence on large and complex datasets to draw insights, patterns, and conclusions to support the strategic objectives of the bank.
  • Involvement in global projects as per the strategic priorities at bank level.


 

What you bring to the team

  • University degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Cybernetics.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbally.
  • Over 3 years of experience in model development or validation
  • Tools: SAS, Microsoft/Oracle SQL, Python, Microsoft Package, Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of lending market developments and influencing factors, good understanding of banking rules and regulations (both Romanian and European).
  • Can identify the broader scope, impact, and/or dependencies between business issues, makes good trade-offs between the amount of effort and added value.
  • Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Manages complexity and has superior attention to detail.
  • Swiftly incorporates new concepts and principles into own expertise.
