Job Overview
COO Finance (COOF) is the department responsible for the central processing and reporting of all accounting events globally related to the Financial Markets, Treasury, Lending and Payments Services of ING Bank. These activities are executed in both Amsterdam and Manila. The latter location is in a growing phase and the number of activities is expected to grow further in Manila in both depth and broadness during 2024 and beyond.
With more than 10 teams and 150 colleagues working in various local and global Finance processes, last year we created the Flying Squad team. As a Change Expert in this team your purpose is to enable the COOF organization in Manila by supporting both small and large projects. For example: changes in systems and processes, the migration of new tasks, or the transformation of the department into a new organization.
In order to be exposed to your colleagues and learn about Finance, you will spend around 40% of your time rotating through various Finance teams and performing some BAU activities (financial accounting, cost management, reporting) with the different teams. With the other 60% you will focus more on driving changes in the COOF domain, by doing project management and taking ownership for project execution. Projects can vary from small OPEX initiatives (eg: improve effectiveness of WPI) to large projects (eg: restructure the team organization in a given domain).
Key Responsibilities
As a Change Expert, you:
- Close cooperation with team in Amsterdam and local finance departments of various international branches.
- Working with local and international stakeholders to align expected turnaround times for projects, gaining approval for project actions, and coordinating the appropriate action with the teams that are responsible for executing those actions and monitor overall project status.
- Working with local stakeholders on the balance between BAU deliveries and project goals, across all the COOF domain
- Take ownership of OPEX projects and manage their intake and execution of them
- Provide daily support to user community by answering questions and creating training material.
Key Capabilities/Experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Is familiar with working in a change/project organization, either as an analyst or as a project manager.
- Has a good understanding of Finance (or Finance Operations), ideally with experience in one of the following areas in an international bank: Financial Account, Management Accounting, Cost Allocation, Planning and Forecast processes, etc.
- Is interested and familiar in process improvement methodologies used for OPEX, for example Lean Six Sigma. Green belt is a plus.
- Is able to adopt knowledge quickly and is able to transfer knowledge to others.
Minimum Qualifications
Required skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in transformation programs with high impact and relevant change execution experience preferably with international exposure
- Experience in defining strategies and policies in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames
- Proficient expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary initiatives
- A proven track record in process management, backlog management and resource planning
- Experience in explaining complex issues in an easy-to-understand way to get people on board, including by using your strong analytical skills
- Have a ‘can do’ mentality, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile
- Proven track record and experience in Banking
- An excellent grasp of English, written and verbally
