We’re on the hunt for a number of experienced Product Owner to join Mortgages Originations team. 

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience and understand the deliveries playbook in ING, have delivered significant works and projects and will be great if you have the understanding in Equifax.

The Product Owner Originations is a key part of the Mortgages Team working across the Originations Product Area working on process improvements and digitisation initiatives across the Mortgage originations process to improve time to decision and customer experience whilst reducing risk.

You have responsibility for the delivery of key projects and initiatives within the Mortgages tribe, leading a squad and working with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of business requirements. The PO decides what is being worked on within the squad (in consultation with the Origination Leadership Team), is responsible for meeting the squad’s KPI’s (together with the squad) and decides what the key priorities are.

What you’ll do 

  • Customer Focus: Represent the customer’s voice, ensuring products and processes improve customer experience and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Project Management: Lead key initiatives, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of business requirements with minimal defects.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process optimisation, digitisation, and system fixes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance decision-making timelines.
  • Product & Service Ownership: Define, develop, and manage products and solutions within regulatory frameworks while maintaining customer satisfaction and business profitability.
  • Strategy Development: Design and implement product strategies, considering market trends, regulatory requirements, and ING’s objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Align with internal and external stakeholders, manage dependencies, and ensure transparent communication of priorities and progress.
  • Agile Delivery: Collaborate within Agile squads, participate in sprints, and promote ING’s One Way of Working (OWoW) methodology.
  • Risk Management: Address product risks, resolve issues, and implement preventative controls to mitigate customer and operational impacts.
  • Performance & KPIs: Monitor and deliver on squad KPIs, business targets, and product outcomes, ensuring alignment with tribe goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement enhancements to processes, products, and services, ensuring measurable customer and business benefits.

What we’re looking for 

  • Proven experience in digital channels, process optimization, and project delivery.
  • Solid background in product management and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance customer needs, business goals, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead squads to deliver key projects and initiatives, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, aligning work to squad goals and KPIs.
  • Drive customer journey optimization, process improvements, and digitization initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and enhance products/services while managing risks, incidents, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and implement strategies for products, pricing, and processes to meet business objectives.
  • Track progress, adapt strategies, and ensure continuous improvement in customer outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with internal/external stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to align priorities.
  • Represent the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions deliver value and positive experiences.
  • Work with Tribe and Chapter Leads to implement the tribe’s strategy and business goals.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Customer-focused, with a hands-on approach to driving initiatives.
  • Effective at managing dependencies and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, legislative, and company policies.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and continuous improvements for product quality.
