Portfolio Management Infrastructure Finance – VP or Director
Department Overview:
ING Wholesale Banking (“WB”) is looking to hire a portfolio management specialist specialising in Infrastructure Finance for its Sectors Portfolio Management team to be based in London. ING is a top 10 player in the global infrastructure Finance sector and London is the global headquarters of the business.
You will manage a portfolio of Infrastructure Finance loans working closely with a number of senior colleagues (Deal Principals). You will provide analytical and monitoring support and will be responsible for delivering high quality periodic reviews of the Borrowers in your portfolio.
You will also deliver reports required by colleagues in credit risk management, internal / external auditors as well as the Bank’s regulators. We are looking to take a dynamic approach to portfolio management which will involve the successful candidate working collaboratively with internal stakeholders. You will be expected to meet (together with the relevant Deal Principal) and develop relationships with the management of the Borrowers in your portfolio.
As a senior you will also be expected to develop the skills of more junior staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
- Take ownership and actively manage a portfolio of Infrastructure loans in line with the Bank’s policies and capital velocity objectives.
- Identify early warning signals in case Borrowers are not performing in line with the Bank’s expectations.
- Deliver high quality reviews, amendment / waiver requests and reports based on detailed cashflow, contractual and risk analysis
- Completion, accuracy checks of internal systems and compliance requirements to accompany credit packs.
- Providing inputs for rating reviews and new rating model systems
- Become a trusted adviser to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assist restructuring colleagues when relevant to your portfolio.
- Develop the skills of more junior colleagues.
- Support securitisation and similar projects / initiatives.
- Acceptance of new transactions into your portfolio and management of offboarding or handover of files when appropriate
Candidate Profile
Qualifications / Education:
- High quality degree ideally in STEM subjects
Experience / Knowledge:
- 5+(VP) 10+ (Director) years of relevant experience in credit analysis of project/ acquisition financing transactions
- Financial modelling contractual, financial and risk analysis developed in a similar role with knowledge of the assessment of cash- flow based lending transactions and relationship experience.
- Analytical and effective communicator
- Able to explain complicated ideas clearly and coherently.
- Delivers with efficiency and effectiveness under time pressure.
- A strong team ethic, good organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Willing to go above and beyond for the sake of the team and clients.
- A self-starter, comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Additional language, ideally Dutch or French
