Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1500 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

We enjoy a flexible way of working and a highly collaborative environment, where fair and constructive feedback is encouraged.

For us, impact isn't a perk. It's the driver of our work.

We are guided and rewarded by a shared desire to make the world a better place, one innovative solution at a time. Our colleagues make it their job to do impactful things and they love doing it in good company. Do you?

The mission

Do you believe that people make the difference in ING and their safety a precondition to do business? Does the idea of the roll-out of a strategic vision of a risk function excite you? Are you able to create structure in chaos and thrive in a dynamic environment?

If YES – look no further, as this may be a great opportunity for you!

  • As part of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Fraud, Security and Employment Practice Risk (FSE) Team, you will be instrumental in positioning the Personal and Physical Security (PPS) function and supporting global roll-out and implementation.
  • The core FSE team is based in Amsterdam but working closely with colleagues in different ING Hubs.
  • This vertical focuses on 3 broad risk areas, namely: (i) Internal and External Fraud; (ii) Personal and Physical Security and (iii) Employment Practice Risk (EPR)
  • The purpose of the PPS function is to protect ING’s employees and guests and ensure a safe and secure work environment.
  • You will be working closely with PPS counterparts in 1st and 2nd line, both locally and globally, on PPS objectives and goals; and support Head of FSE in executing oversight and functional steering in terms of PPS.

Your day-to-day

No two days are the same in PPS. There are exciting strategic activities such as the sustainable development of the PPS function; as well as certain cyclical activities, such as periodic risk reporting.

Your core task is to oversee and support the global implementation of the PPS policy and control standard, maintain a strong international stakeholder network with the Risk community, coordinate and perform periodic risk reporting. The function of a PPS risk manager requires multiple activities that all interlink:

  • PPS stakeholder identification, engagement, and management; including PPS representation at the virtual business line extended MT’s;
  • Identify and understand key business processes;
  • Identify data sources and work in close alignment with 1st and 2nd  line counterparts to unlock data streams, for future PPS dashboarding;
  • Review, challenge and advise across all aspects of the risk management cycle: identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting.

What you bring to the team

  • University level degree;
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in NFR management;
  • Experience in working in cross-border environments (e.g. multinational companies);
  • Sufficient understanding of Risk management, including iRisk, and NFR processes, willingness to learn more about personal and physical security;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English;
  • Ability to draft clear and concise (convey complex messages in simple ways) reports, memos, and presentations;
  • Good listener and interviewer, able to obtain information from subject matter experts;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build effective working relationships and thrive in a diversified and multicultural work environment;
  • Flexibility to work simultaneously on more than one topic and variety of activities;
  • Strong administration and organizational skills;
  • High degree of independence and pro-active attitude.
