Job Description:
The Labour Relations Officer provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility on all labour related activities, like handling the relationship with trade unions, advise on matters related to labour law and banking collective agreement, support in the management of disciplinary procedures and any legal disputes in close cooperation with external labour law consultants, analyze in depth labour law updates.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will support the Head of HR and the organisation in the following activities:
Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address organization's human resource requirements
Implement the organization's employee relations framework
Manage the relationship with Unions
Perform complex, legal or exceptions case management (e.g. (returning) long term absence, grievances, …)
Communicate on (changing) CLAs
Coordinate employee and labour relations programs to ensure compliance with policies and practices
Manage projects that are a direct result of (new) CLAs (e.g. change in work rosters) and/or projects to support the business (e.g. restructuring, new ways of working, ...)
Negotiations and dispute resolution with employees, unions, employer bodies, government agencies, labour relations authorities, and other agencies to protect the organization's interests
HR employee life cycle events and processes
Advise internal stakeholders and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs and collective agreements
Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers, mediate labour disputes and grievances and provide advice on employee and labour relations
Administer severance programs, including, where required, provision of severance quotes and cost benefit analysis. Key Capabilities/Experience
Knowledgeable on organization and management principles, HR functional areas and market practices

Personal Profile
Bachelor / University degree in Law, or Economics
At least 7+ years of work experience in human resources field with relevant professional background as Labour Relations Officer in a complex and international environment
Used to work in a matrix organization
Work experience as Labour Relations Officer in banking/financial services and knowledge of corporate banking business is a plus
Understanding of HR as well as the drivers of Banking business
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
Advanced user of MS Office (especially Power Point and Excel)
