Department Overview:
The Commodity Trading desk is providing commodity hedges and risk management solutions. The main clients are corporates with hedging needs in the commodity space. The desk has a global presence with teams in New York, Singapore and London. The desk covers a wide product range, covering Energy, Base and Precious Metals and Softs &Agri's.
This role will cover London Metal Exchange Base Metals, Iron Ore, Coking Coal and Battery Metals
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
- Follow developments in (paper) commodity markets.
- Continuously check and update relevant market parameters.
- Price indicative and firm quotes for clients
- Contribute to IT developments for the desk.
- Support senior traders in their daily routine
- Support portfolio owners manage the risk positions of the desk within the applicable limits and desk risk tolerance.
- 100% observance of all FCA requirements, industry conduct rules and ING Compliance standards.
- Produce daily P n L and research reports.

Candidate Profile
Qualification/Education
- Educated to Degree level, within Finance, Economics, Maths or Science.
Experience/Knowledge
- c2 years previous work experience in banking, trading or risk management roles OR commodities back office or middle office experience and looking to move into trading.
- Excellent Excel and numeracy skills
- Programming skills and ability to develop desk tools using VBA and Python is critical.
