Java Engineer (PL/SQL)

Job Overview

We are looking for an engineer to strengthen its Regulatory Reporting squad in the Credit Risk tribe. A variety of technology is used, amongst others Oracle, PL/SQL, and soon Java. Infrastructure a combination of modern RHEL8/9 Linux systems, ING’s private cloud and internal DBaaS services.

You will be part of the Global Credit Risk Test Chapter. The test engineers who are part of the chapter shall be joining different squads based on their expertise and the required capacity. The area of expertise is Credit Risk.

• Adapting the Credit Risk reporting applications to deliver Regulatory, Compliance & Architectural Changes.

• Improving stability, performance and reliability of the Credit Risk Reporting applications.

• Comply with the IT security Standards.

• Create and maintain the development environment and tools used to code solutions.

• Automate test and make it part of the design, code, build and release process.

• Actively engage and participate in different stages of stories from Business Analysis to end of test cycles.

• Assessing and accepting the delivered software and securing the quality.

• Take your responsibility around quality of user stories of the backlog.

• Liaising with other teams and areas of expertise (developers, business analysts, peer testers, etc.).

In addition to developing software solutions, you will contribute to:

• Streamlining the end to end IT operation process of VDD squad.

• Optimization of the service stability and continuity.

• Help Credit Risk to make big steps to the future.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Proficiency in Java 8 or higher, Java 11 or higher is preferred

• Competency in Spring and Spring boot

• Working knowledge in RESTful API Development

• Basic knowledge and experience with different test methodologies, test design

techniques, and test automation (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)

• Excellent database engineering knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL

• Excellent knowledge of CI/CD using Azure DevOps

• Experience in code versioning tools, preferably Git

• Good at scripting (Bash, Python, Shell)

• Cloud experience (preferably Azure)

• Effective Communication

Good to have:

• Basic Knowledge with ETL concepts and tools

• Experience in production support

• Agile mindset

• Familiarity with ELK monitoring

• Experience with performance testing (Jmeter, Gatling)

• Experience with API testing (Postman, SoapUI)
