The Mission

You will work in ING’s Open Banking & XS2A area, created to deliver ING’s Open Banking strategy. Open Banking evolves around Application Programming Interfaces (APIs): a way to easily open-up capabilities and share data. We believe it will help ING to accelerate innovation and collaboration with partners, clients, and platforms to improve customer experiences and create new business models.

Key to success is our developer portal at developer.ing.com which enables parties to connect and create value in an easy, secure, and scalable way.

As an IT Business Analyst in our Open Banking & XS2A area, you will play a crucial role in aligning with various stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications, to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Your day to day:

  • You will determine the functional impact on our IT-domain, as primary objective, based on functional and non-functional business, architecture and IT-requirements;
  • You will design features in close cooperation with key stakeholders, splitting epics into features, determining the mutual interdependencies resulting in a functional roadmap;
  • You will support decision-making by presenting clear design alternatives and substantiating them;
  • You will act as our primary contact for stakeholders on key projects, aligning with business, IT, and architects across different areas and countries;
  • You will collaborate with different stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications;
  • You will focus on removing impediments and ensuring that work is directed towards maximizing consumers’ value;
  • You will work with architects and developers to design and choose the best technical solutions, considering aspects like Open Banking & XS2A area strategy, risks, and non-functional impact;
  • You will combine the business and IT knowledge to slice Epics into Features;
  • You will highlight the IT and business dependencies within an area or across areas;
  • You will have the end-to-end view, and you will see the impact and identify needs and dependencies across areas or Domains;
  • You will coach on accurate Feature definition, estimation, and creation of functional roadmaps;
  • You will collaborate closely with developers during the programming phase.

What you’ll bring to the team:

Experience: 3-5 years in IT/ business analysis in banking or related business area.

  • Practical IT related knowledge (development and operation of modern APIs in a micro-service architecture, databases, operating systems, programming languages);
  • Good project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and align all the involved teams to meet projects’ deadlines;
  • Experienced in stakeholder management;
  • Knowledge of software development cycle;
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Customer focused and self-organized;
  • Pro-active attitude;
  • Able to adapt to different contexts, settings and changing working situations
  • Integrity, communication, teamwork, ability to cope with change.

Nice to have:

  • Banking knowledge
  • Knowledge of Open Banking & PSD2 standards and regulations

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
