ING is a global bank with a strong European base. Our 57,000 employees serve around 38.9 million customers, corporate clients and financial institutions in over 40 countries. Our purpose is to empower people to stay a step ahead in life and in business.

ING’s Wholesale Bank helps companies, institutions and governments to gain access to capital in support of their success and further growth. We provide M&A advice, capital structuring advice, help companies hedge their FX, interest and commodity risk, support daily payment requirements and finance a variety of assets throughout the 7 Sectors in which we’re organized.

Those Sectors are Energy, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Commodities Food & Agri, Telecom Media Technology & Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics and Corporate Sector Coverage clients. In those Sectors we have a global network of employees with in-depth sector knowledge and product expertise. Dependent on a client’s need the Sector colleagues work in close collaboration with product specialists and as such aim to service clients with their financial needs and give them an unique experience.

Through an internship in ING’s Sector organization you’ll have the opportunity to get to learn ING, a specific Sector and the services it provides, what it is to be a fulltime banker and whether this is an industry for you to pursue your career in.

How will your internship with Corporate Sector Coverage look like

The companies we cover are related to various sectors ranging from retail to industrial companies. As a Non-Financial Risk intern you will be a member of NFR support team of the sector, supporting daily operations on KYC. You will be helping the bank to remain compliant and assisting corporate clients to offboard their products.

You work most closely together with members of different teams in Amsterdam as well as with ING colleagues all over the world. However, as we have offices in Frankfurt, London, Singapore and Brussels you will come across a variety of colleagues.

As an Intern your job will be diverse, but your main tasks consist of:

  • Support front office to manage day to day KYC activities
  • Maintaining contact with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Be willing to participate in cross-sector projects supporting KYC pillars

We aim to give you an experience that comes close to what you will be doing if you decide to start a banking career.

Do you meet the following?

  • Enrolled in a (HBO or University) Bachelor‘s degree
  • This vacancy is also open for non-Dutch speaking candidates
  • A reliable team player who is highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Be able to operate in a fast-paced work environment while still maintaining structure
  • A proactive approach, especially in a hybrid working environment.
  • Available as soon as possible

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you. You’ll also benefit from:

• Internship allowance

• Your own work laptop

• Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

• Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

• An informal working environment with innovative colleagues
