Mission

 

The head of Restructuring & Recovery is a key role in the Risk & overall Belgium organization. It’s mission revolves around the restructuring & recovery activities of customers with a business credit product (total outstanding balance >EUR 1mln) or facing financial difficulties.

The role reports hierarchically to the Chief Risk Officer of ING Belgium, being part of the local MT and functionally towards the Head of Global Credit Restructuring. This role will provide a great development opportunity, placing the successful candidate at the intersection between clients, the regulatory environment and society at large, giving the possibility to have a real impact for the various parties.


What you will do

 

-       Leading a very talented team of approximately 35 colleagues (directly and indirectly), fostering an environment based on engagement, personal and professional development and vitality.

-       Being responsible for managing the restructuring & recovery activities for customers with a credit exposure higher than EUR 1 mln;

-       Coordinating the provisioning process, including determining individual provisions (IFRS 9) and Sox process coordination.

-       Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, for example guidelines on lending to small business customers, IFRS rules and EBA guidelines.

-       Functional responsible for the restructuring & recovery of ING Luxembourg

-       Providing second line oversight regarding the restructuring and recovery activities carried out by the Collections department.

-       Continuous optimization of the restructuring & recovery processes

-       Partnering with various stakeholders across the bank, locally / at group level, but externally as well.

 

What we are looking for

 

-       Solid knowledge of Credit Risk, including recovery & restructuring activities.

-       Very good understanding of the banking & business environment, balancing internal and external perspectives of the industry;

-       Experience in managing difficult client files, with high visibility and impact.

-       Very good individual and team leadership abilities, such as growing teams & individuals, coaching, sustaining high performance & balanced teams, conflict management and leading leaders;

-       A balanced and structured approach, taking into account various perspectives and being a trusted partner towards various stakeholders.

-       Strong negotiation skills.

-       Excellent analytical skills
