Key responsibilities:

Head of Lending responsibilities:

  • By example, with expertise, esprit, and a hand for networking – you lead your team, colleagues, and the overall Lending performance in France to new levels of excellence in this role spanning across Corporate Sector Lending as well as the broader Wholesale Banking Lending domains. As such, you manage Lending revenues, RWAs, and cost for the local Lending portfolio in general and Corporate Sector Lending in particular.
  • You drive the local Lending product proposition, are responsible for product quality and standardization whilst ensuring regulatory compliance at all times. With the customer experience in mind, you are a commercial excellence role model, bring knowledge sharing between teams to a new level, but also take charge of data quality of the local lending portfolio, and keep non-financial risk of the Lending product in France under control.
  • Under your leadership, the Lending process will take new shapes whilst you will drive Lead Lending and focus on ensuring Wholesale Banking‘s Lending Sustainability targets will be met.

Head of Transaction Management Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and efficiently processing of credit approval packages including annexes and all requisite attachments.
  • Building and creating financial models with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions.
  • Providing Greenlight memos, presentations and discussions with Risk Management.
  • Preparing internal models including risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management to establish the appropriate internal risk rating and risk appetite.
  • Reviewing due diligence including summarizing and performing analytics.
  • Interfacing with loan operations (treasury and the lending center of excellence units to verify limit availability) and compliance with internal policies.
  • Responsibility for deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents.
  • Preparation of marketing materials and lending analytics for clients.
  • Term sheet negotiations and forming a club or syndicate.
  • Analysis of different transaction structures and providing recommendations.
  • Preparing business comparables and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing.
  • Attending meetings and calls with clients including transaction-related due diligence.
  • Staying current on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed and facilitate accordingly.
  • Enhancing internal processes, suggesting efficiency improvements.
  • Actively managing the daily operations of a Transaction Management team as well as coordinating deal staffing, tracking of activities and deliverables.
  • Engaging in all aspects of people management such as recruitment, appraisals, workload balancing, etc.
  • Overseeing 18 TMs and 2 direct report directors to ensure proper training and personal and professional development.
  • Ensuring a consistently high level of service, quality output and policy compliance through training and development activities.
  • Cultivating a cohesive team environment by consistently providing guidance, mentorship and training to support and develop new and junior team members.

Experience and competencies:

  • At least 15 years of experience in Lending or a Lending related field in Wholesale Banking.
  • Extensive management expertise in a commercial environment.
  • Skilled in managing across different domains, naturally collaborative with ability to effectively operate within a matrix organization.
  • Strong commercial drive paired with sound risk awareness, credit judgement, analytical skills and understanding of financial models.
  • Great communication skills and organizational sensitivity with ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and to embrace change.
  • Profound track record in driving employee engagement and acting as trusted partner to stakeholder.
  • Experience with both corporate and project finance loan origination and execution.
  • Understanding of debt capital markets.
  • Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works.
