Event Support Intern

Internship – Full Time – Brussels – English

Your work environment

You will work in ING Belgium’s Wholesale Banking team, a commercial department of approx. 250 people serving large corporates and publicly listed companies across a range of sectors.

Specifically, you will join the Business Support Assistant team. This team is responsible for a wide range of administrative and other tasks supporting the client-facing business, but you will focus specifically on event organisation. As part of this, you will also work regularly with the Event Manager allocated to Wholesale Banking, including potentially joining her on-site for venue visits and event logistics.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior management and collaborate with the full scope of teams and profiles represented in Wholesale Banking Belgium. You will be a fully integrated member of the Wholesale Banking team, which includes many young, energetic and motivated people from diverse backgrounds.

Your key responsibilities

The intern will become a full team-member working alongside the Business Support Assistants and Event Manager. Depending on experience and background, the role includes a.o.:

  • Supporting commercial teams in the organisation of various client events, e.g. CEO dinners, CFO of the Year awards, football matches, the annual Garden Party, ING Arena events, etc.
  • Administrative tasks such as sending invitations, following up on responses, creating lists, sending confirmations, sending tickets, etc.
  • Supporting the Event Manager in developing event concepts and doing the practical organisation, potentially including on-site visits and event support.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Business Support Assistants, Event Manager and Business Manager Wholesale Banking.

 As an Event Support Intern in Wholesale Banking, you will also need:

  • Fluent in English verbally and written. Good French and/or Dutch is also an advantage.
  • Interest in event management, potentially supported by relevant studies.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.) and general administrative tasks.
  • Good personal organisation and eye for detail
  • Eagerness to learn and ‘get your hands dirty’ with practical tasks
  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently on various tasks at the same time, and prioritise accordingly
  • Good level of professionalism when interacting with colleagues and clients
