About the department:

ING Americas Tech is the support backbone and catalyst for new and innovative solutions that drive growth for both internal and external customers. We strive to bring technical expertise and business knowledge together to support a wide range of business products. The Stream Aligned Team is focused on supporting the Americas Wholesale Banking business, such as Financial Markets, Lending & Capital Markets, maintaining systems in collaboration with global teams, and building and maintaining local applications as applicable. The DevOps Engineers work with the infrastructure, technology operations and other cross-functional teams to support US businesses.

Responsibilities :

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Perform incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis to determine the actual failure cause and implement structural fixes. You communicate directly with users (Traders, Trading Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York and Singapore
  • You provide level-2 support in deploying and running an application/stack in production. This implies being part of an on-call rotation scheme.
  • Find opportunities to automate the testing of existing features, performance and security as well as the automation of deployments, monitoring, and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers
  • Perform data improvement by (re)configuring new and existing products, reports and processes in general.
  • You understand the entire stack’s technology on which the application runs and how it fits in the overall chain.
  • Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error prone tasks, using the correct Event Alerts
  • Perform Functional testing and Change Management activities in order to ensure the safe deliveries from Test, to Acceptance and to Production environment
  • Occasional travel abroad (Amsterdam / Brussels)

Qualifications and Competencies

Experience: 

  • Have financial knowledge on interest rate and FX derivates valuation and market risk modelling (for ex. Greeks and VaR).
  • Offering functional incident management on a front office pricing application, used within the Financial Markets domain worldwide.
  • Supporting end users in using the application; enriching the back-end databases with new products, reports and scheduled tasks.

Tech stack/ knowledge: 

  • Advanced knowledge on MS SQL Server and Transact-SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of interest rates derivatives valuation
  • A customer focus, with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience
  • Comfortable Excel user
  • Experience with tools like ServiceNow, Confluence, Azure DevOps is a plus
  • Familiarity with IT Service Managenet / ITIL processes is a plus
  • Scripting knowledge (Powershell, Python, bash) is a strong plus
  • A good team player, cross functional, enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment
  • Proactive and attentive to other’s needs

Salary Range $95,000-$110,000
