We are part of a global team dedicated to ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of 1LoD risk and control management across ING. Our team plays a crucial role in enabling business leaders to manage non-financial risk requirements through standardized processes, methodology and tools. By working with different teams across ING, we aim to strengthen our risk culture and engaging ING (business) leaders in staying safe and secure.

We are looking for a pragmatic, innovative & inspiring Senior Consultant with strong result- driven capabilities to join our team. In this role, you will focus on improving and streamlining 1LoD non-financial risk and control management processes across ING while working closely with colleagues and stakeholders globally.

What you will do:

  • Steer on the efficiency and effectiveness of 1LoD non-financial risk(NFR) processes, by ensuring robust and standardized design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, tooling, planning and role descriptions bank-wide;
  • Driving continuous improvements in the 1LoD NFR way of working, methodology and materials, in close collaboration with the 2LoD;
  • Managing and optimally organizing the activities provided by the HUBs teams;
  • Facilitating engagement, best practice sharing and collaboration across all locations and HUBs;
  • Enhancing overall transparency and steering on the quality of guidance and training delivered regarding 1LoD non-financial risk(NFR) requirements globally;
  • Creating and standardizing the methodology for bank-wide reporting on 1LoD risk and control management  processes;
  • Fostering an open and transparent communication and collaboration across locations and various functions including 2LoD to make sure that globally developed methodologies are satisfactorily implemented.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are a strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation;
  • You understand the business impact of the implementation of processes, methodology and tools on the organization;
  • You have a solid knowledge about Non-Financial Risk; and their relevance in banking processes and products;
  • You are able to develop and maintain (new) methodologies to help drive the transformation agenda;
  • You have strong leadership and management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams;
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • You are able to work effectively with global teams and manage multiple priorities.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in banking/business consultancy or transformation role;
  • Experience in working in an international environment and realizing results with virtual teams across locations;
  • Pragmatism: ability to translate high level/strategic vision and requirements into tactical and concrete actions;
  • High resilience, the ability to deal with ambiguity and manage complexity;
  • Leadership skills, empowering teams by inspiring & energetic leadership;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and credibility;
  • Eager to learn and to take ownership of the responsibilities and mandate;
  • Excellent level of English, communication and presentation skills.
