The Corporate Sector Lending department offers a position in ING Bank N.V., Manila Branch (CSL Manila”) for an experienced banker who enjoys working in an international environment. CSL Manila is one of the key teams at the heart of ING Wholesale Banking in the country. We provide banking services and complex financing solutions to corporate clients, working closely with our coverage team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of banking services to our clients. We are a global bank and a leader in sustainable finance and assisting our clients in placing greater emphasis on climate action and ESG improvements.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our coverage teams in the region  to originate and expand our business with prospective and existing clients, with a focus on offering lending products.
  • Advise, structure and execute primarily lending transactions, with the lending specialist acting as the point person in client discussions when it comes to the lending product, but also assisting our coverage colleagues in pitching financial markets products and/or trade finance products to offer tailored solutions to our customer’s requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and other materials for pitches to clients.
  • Help achieve lending income, fee, cross-buy and return targets, and other KPIs including on distribution, sustainable finance, NPS and OHI.
  • Prepare credit proposals and manage the credit approval process for lending, trade finance and financial market limits, ensuring follow-up on post-approval conditions and covenants where the CSL team acts as the main point of entry for the Risk Manager.
  • Responsible for the negotiation of loan documentation and trade finance documentation with clients, in close collaboration with the coverage team, Risk and Legal (if required, with outside legal counsel).
  • Ensure appropriate portfolio management through monitoring of the performance of the companies in the portfolio, including identifying Early Warning Signals for a deterioration in credit quality and performing annual reviews. This includes responsibility for the quality of his/her credit files (costs, actual losses (co-responsibility), data quality, effectiveness, accuracy/efficiency, timeliness).
  • Keep track of market developments for lending in the jurisdictions and/or sectors covered to be able to adapt and respond to current events and changes in market circumstances.
  • To comply with relevant credit and non-financial risk policies as well as other policies and regulations, as per the bank’s 3LOD governance framework.
  • Support lending related projects, policy changes, etc. as part of change management, where required under relevant WB transformation/change strategies.

Required skills and experience:

  • University degree major in business/economics, law or relevant business discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with proven track record in in relationship management, corporate lending, credit risk, , leveraged finance and/or structured finance.
  • Strong analytical skills (financial/credit), including financial modelling skills.
  • Strong client focus and proven ability in stakeholder management (both internally and externally)
  • Strong results orientation, comfortable with driving financial performance, such as revenues, fees, and returns.
  • Strategic thinking skills, with ability to synthesize broad information quickly and cogently.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Is self-motivated, “Hands-on” and possesses a positive and “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product partners, particularly client coverage and risk management
  • Effective communicator who is fluent in English
  • Positive attitude towards change and ability to adjust to dynamic business environment
  • Strong negotiating, relationship management and sales / presentation skills is a plus point.
