Job Profile Summary
The TMT & Healthcare sector cluster with ING Wholesale Banking has the mandate to develop wholesale banking business for ING in these two sectors globally. The sector team is responsible for developing business with clients in these sectors by providing financing, advisory services and other wholesale banking products & services to clients through its teams based in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. In the Asia Pacific region, the team is based in five locations, namely Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Tokyo, and Taipei.
We are seeking to recruit a bright, numerate and articulate employee at Associate level who would enjoy a new challenge working in an established and successful team. You will work closely with sector team members, and with other product, country and support teams within the bank.
The role requires an individual who has strong analytical skills, is numerate, has strong written and oral communication skills and can work closely with others. We provide and arrange loan financings, advisory services and cross-sell the bank’s other products to our clients. Modelling experience, a good credit grounding, and prior corporate/investment banking experience would be preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate is expected to work with team members including senior client relationship managers/deal principals and other stakeholders to provide all coverage support necessary to originate business with clients and ongoing client relationship management. The work envisaged encompasses developing client (prospect) databases, providing origination support to senior bankers including working on pitches and proposals, assisting with deal structuring, credit analysis, assisting with industry/sector review papers, and contributing to credit packages, working with ING systems and helping with internal approval processes. Networking with various external parties/clients and working closely internally with other product partners and country relationship management team is required.
- Ongoing assistance to the team head and senior bankers on management of the TMT&H portfolio and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Working on other adhoc requests as required by Deal Principals and the Team Head on various client or deal related matters.
- Developing marketing materials and maintaining a current view of recent transactions, market benchmarks, economic and industry trends, and gathering relevant research. Marketing materials include pitch books, industry reports, comparative tables and league tables as well as updating relevant credentials.
- Assisting team with cross-selling the bank’s other products and services such as corporate finance advisory, debt capital markets, financial markets and transaction services.
What we're looking for:
The key requirement for this role is to be able to provide/manage client relationship management support, with the potential to develop over time to a senior client relationship management role and leading a deal team. Strong analytical skills are required, together with the ability to work within a cross-product team. Credit experience is preferred, together with an understanding of documentation and ING systems. Sector experience preferred, but we would consider candidates with experience in other sectors or products.
Other important pre-requisites:
- Graduate or post-graduate degree holder in Business/Finance/Economics or other relevant disciplines.
- 3-6 years of investment / corporate banking experience (or other relevant field).
- Strong financial analysis capability and good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in Structuring, Credit & deal execution in corporate/investment banking.
- Understanding of legal documentation.
- Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills.
- An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of self-motivation.
