About the position:

We have a great opportunity to join the Corporate Sector Lending (“CSL”) team under Transaction Management which is part of ING’s Wholesale Bank (“WB”) Lending. CSL provides a spectrum of lending products to clients across Asia. Our clients include some of the largest names in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, construction, e-commerce, energy, fintechs, conglomerates and investment holding companies.  This is a junior lending professional role within the front office. As a  member of CSL, you will support and work closely with Relationship Managers and/or Deal Principals. The work will be fast-paced and multifaceted.

The vacancy involves regular contact with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors and frequent cooperation with internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, and Deal Execution.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be involved in new lending transaction and reviews, working closely with the client relationship managers and/or Deal Principals and will take responsibility for many of the key lending execution processes, which include:
    • Financial and credit analysis on existing and prospect clients;
    • Preparing and efficiently processing credit approval packages;
    • Building and preparing financial models with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions;
    • Reviewing due diligence including summarizing and performing analytics;
    • Running internal models including risk ratings and loan pricing
    • Interfacing with risk management on ratings and credit applications.
    • Assisting in the review of legal documentation and validating key terms & conditions;
    • Interfacing with loan operations, treasury and the lending center of excellence units to verify limit availability, and compliance with internal policies;
    • Oversee and coordinate deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents;
    • Preparation of marketing materials for clients;
    • Involvement in term sheet negotiations and supporting loan syndication efforts;
    • Analysis of different transaction structures and providing recommendations;
    • Preparing business comparable and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing;
    • Attending client team meetings and attend calls with customers including for transaction-related due diligence;
    • Staying current on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitate accordingly;
    • Enhancing internal processes, suggesting efficiency improvements.
    • Working with and mentor junior Analysts, trainees and Interns by supporting them in their personal and professional development as lending professionals.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor’s ’s degree in finance/economics/accounting/management (or similar).
  • 2-5 years of relevant corporate lending experience.

Competencies:

  • Prior knowledge and/or exposure to corporate lending would be a plus;
  • Exposure in corporate loan origination and execution;
