At ING, the Mortgage Tribe is responsible for driving the end-to-end performance of Mortgages through development of a clear strategy and working collaboratively with all areas of the Bank to drive cross functional execution of this strategy.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager – Analytics & Modelling with a strong analytical and modelling background to join the Mortgage Tribe Pricing and Profitability Team within the Retail Bank. This role will focus on line 1 accountability regarding credit losses and risk weighted asset calculations. 

What you’ll do 

  • Utilise your thorough understanding of the IFRS9 (international financial reporting standards) expected credit loss model and the calculations that drive LGD, PD and EAD outcomes.
  • Provide recommendations for efficiency and improvements in model methodology.
  • Accountability of line 1 endorsement of model changes and management overlays that drive changes to mortgages credit losses. 
  • Deliver quarterly summaries to the executive leadership team explaining movements in mortgage credit loss outcomes and forecasts.
  • Provide in-depth reporting and analytics of the mortgage portfolio which identifies opportunities for risk mitigation and growth.
  • Answer ad hoc queries from leadership and head office regarding mortgage portfolio quality.

 What we’re looking for 

  • 7+ years’ experience in credit risk in either a banking or consulting role with an understanding of LGD, PD and EAD modelling.
  • Experience in credit risk scorecards will be highly regarded.
  • Degree-qualified in numerical fields (e.g., Actuarial Studies, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance).
  • Proven experience of modelling, mathematical and statistical techniques with intermediate to advanced skill level of SAS and SQL.
  • An understanding of the mortgages portfolio with the ability to explain business performance in plain language to executive leadership teams.
  • Exceptional powerpoint, data visualisation, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter qualities, especially the ability to dig deep into the problems to find the key root causes
