A day in the life of a Vice President Portfolio Management 

As a key member of the front office Portfolio Management team, your responsibility as Vice President is to actively manage the lending portfolio and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. You will be exposed to and work with different colleagues from several sectors, TM, CM&A, Risk and Legal whilst aligning with back office / support teams. At the same time, the Portfolio Management team plays a key role in further optimizing our processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization. 

 

  • Actively manage all aspects of the transactions booked in your dedicated portfolio (incl. credit reviews, amendment and waiver requests, rating updates and follow up on required legal documentation until execution 

  • Perform diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of financial covenants and operating performance (e.g. financial models, proforma adjustments, key drivers, etc.) 

  • Identify and resolve of Early Warning Signals for a deterioration in credit quality 

  • Monitor and identify market developments and manage their potential impact on your portfolio 

  • Actively contribute to the various Virtual Client Teams by identifying challenges and opportunities for our clients 

  • Support and coach colleagues in their personal and professional development

As a Vice President, we expect you to 

  • Have a university degree major in economics, law or relevant business discipline. CFA a plus. 

  • Have 5+ years of relevant credit analysis experience in the banking industry. 

  • Have previous experience in the Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate and/or Transportation Finance sector 

  • Be an inclusive team player with consistent high marks on Orange behaviour 

  • Embrace diversity and cross-cultural awareness 

  • Show strong financial and credit analysis capabilities 

  • Display excellent presentation and communication skills 

  • Be a committed and dedicated person who wants to continuously improve 

  • Be self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment 

  • Have knowledge of legal documentation 

  • Be fluent in English. French/Dutch is an advantage 

 

As a Vice President Portfolio Management, you will have the opportunity to:

The Team 

 

The Portfolio Management team will be the ‘center of excellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s lending exposure. It covers all activities post the initial funding to the final repayment of a lending transaction. As a front office department, it will closely collaborate with Origination & Structuring colleagues and product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience. The Portfolio Management function will be organised along product and sector considerations. Each portfolio manager will cover a set of portfolio clients and act as the first point of contact for the ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk and other reporting. Portfolio Management supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also closely involved in the delivery of ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will be supported by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines. Together with Tribe Lending and CLEC, it will be a key driver of improving processes, standardisation, and digitalisation across Lending.
