(Senior) Vice-President in the ING Corporate Investments Portfolio Management & Value Creation team.
Employee | Wholesale Banking | Professional | Netherlands | Amsterdam | 2024-11-18 | REQ-10081099
ING CI is the principal investments business of ING Wholesale Banking (ING WB), providing tailored financing and investment solutions to companies globally across multiple strategies including Equity Investments, Sustainable Investments, and Mezzanine financing. We are active across a broad range of sectors and geographies, and we invest in various stages, from early stage to mature companies. We pride ourselves on our creative approach and our ability to deliver unique & tailored solutions to ING clients and prospects.
As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are seeking talented individuals to join our team, who bring unique perspectives and experiences to the table. You will become part of a team with a strong ambition for continuous growth: we aim to triple our Assets under Management in the coming years and transform ING CI into a true multi-asset portfolio manager, i.e. a multi-strategy value investor with an operating model that allows for controlled scaling of the business. Our team culture is characterized by ambition and a drive to perform, and in finding pleasure in what we do, together as a team and with respect for everyone. ING CI offers a high-performance environment in which talented, energetic, self-starting, and ambitious individuals will thrive.
The Role
The PMVC team plays a pivotal role in the success of our growth ambition. The team's main responsibilities are twofold:
Value Creation: Our profit is driven as much by the origination of new investments as it is by value creation in the companies we invested in. The PMVC team takes a leading role in institutionalizing and standardizing the value creation processes for our portfolio companies. The aim is to leverage existing value creation initiatives across the entire portfolio and initiate new value creation initiatives. Portfolio Management: Provide the portfolio management function for all of CI’s investments and loans across its three origination business units: Equity Investments, Sustainable Investments & Mezzanine Debt as well as for ING Bank's equity positions, which include a.o. a Fintech portfolio, a strategic equity portfolio that is closely linked to ING Bank’s products and services, and a restructuring & recovery equity book. The portfolio management function will provide granular and periodic reporting, asset management, and exit preparations for all positions in the CI and Bank equity portfolios.
Your Profile
We are looking for a (Senior) Vice-President (at least 5+ years of relevant work experience). The role requires extensive and demonstrable experience in and understanding of all instruments across the capital structure and across a broad range of industries. The ideal candidate has a track-record in investments (e.g., VC, PE, Corporate M&A) and has hands-on experience in one or more associated disciplines including Financial/Strategy consulting, Turnaround/Restructuring and M&A. You have a deep understanding of markets and business strategies, can handle high-pressure situations, possess strong stakeholder management skills and be a strategic thinker. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of integrity, work ethic, and professionalism. The values and behaviors of the ING Orange Code are naturally close to you, and you are as much focused on your own success as on the success of the team you are a part of. A collaborative spirit should be your nature, but you should also not shy away from challenging conventions and ideas. You will be expected to stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the overall ING CI team.
What we offer
