Our Operational Design, Control and Resilience (ODCR) team is looking for a Senior Manager, Business Controls who will be responsible for advising Wholesale Banking & Group Treasury in the identification and management of non-financial risk (operational, regulatory and compliance risks) in line with the Risk Appetite Statement, policies and regulatory obligations.

You will act as executive level adviser to Ops Resilience Lead with a focus on Wholesale Bank & Group Treasury teams in the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of non-financial risks including development and maintenance of the business risk profile and assessment of Risk in Change.

This role is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and track non-financial risk items (issues, events, audit actions) and ensure timely action aligned to policy and procedure
  • Provide reporting, analysis and insights to support Wholesale Bank business leaders and Risk and Compliance Committee in effective identification and management of non-financial risks
  • Develop expertise in end-to-end processes supporting the Wholesale Bank business, and act as a subject matter expert on relevant compliance and regulatory obligations
  • Act as an Advisor for the Executive-level Wholesale Bank teams in the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of non-financial risks including development and maintenance of the business risk profile and assessment of Risk in Change
  • Play a leadership role in the Business Controls Office, helping drive the team to achieve objectives across the business

What we’re looking for

  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance regimes associated with Wholesale Banking products
  • Sound knowledge of Wholesale Banking systems and business processes including banking products and operations
  • Extensive experience in a Risk or Compliance role (Financial or Non-Financial) either within 1st LOD or 2nd LOD
  • Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills across a range of levels of senior management
  • Experience (in a product, operations or embedded risk management role) across Wholesale or Institutional Banking
  • Excellent work planning and organisational skills
