The fast track to your future as a Chief Financial Officer
The Finance traineeship at ING prepares you for a future role as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A lot of applicants confuse this track with the traineeship in Wholesale banking. But make no mistake: this Finance traineeship is all about the internal financial processes, and not about making external financial proposals to clients. On this track within the ING International Talent Programme you’ll develop your financial knowledge and agility, both in analysing internal data from the past for the company and presenting figures for the future to senior management. This traineeship will learn you all about how businesses are performing inside the bank, this while working with complex computational models to prepare reports for the management team.
You’ll be in regular contact with members of ING’s senior management team right from the start. For example, during lunches with one of the CFOs.

General and specialized training courses
The point of being a trainee is to learn a lot, and we offer you every opportunity to do so. All trainees at ING participate in our global learning events. You learn about every aspect of core banking, such as the role of a bank, the bank balance sheet, bank funding, IT processes and risk management. Needless to say, these events also help you to develop your soft skills such as business partnering, stakeholder management and presentation techniques. Furthermore, we offer a broad spectrum of training opportunities that are aligned with your specific development needs.
Finance trainees follow a specific training programme for the Finance discipline including CFA I. You can supplement this with further study, such as for CIMA or RC.
