A day in the life of the Head of Legal & Social Relations
The Legal & Social Relations team consists of the HR Legal team (4 FTE) and the Employee Guidance team (3 FTE). It operates within the Human Resources department. It’s a separate centre of expertise responsible for the application of all social-legal policies. This centre of expertise provides support to all ING business units, both for the business as well as for other HR services and social partners.
As a Senior Social Legal Advisor, you provide professional advice on social law and support management and your colleagues in ensuring a constructive social dialogue takes place within ING.
Your activities will include:
following changes in social law and identifying which changes are applicable to ING, you are a recognized partner in this regard;
advising ING leaders and providing substantiated advice in sometimes complex matters;
representing ING Belgium in legal cases in legal cases inside and outside the organization;
negotiating agreements with social partners and balancing priorities within the strategic ambitions of the organization;
working closely with our social partners.

As a Senior Social Legal Advisor, you have:
a master’s degree in law, with a specialisation in Social Law (e.g., Advanced master’s in social law)
at least five years' relevant professional experience (e.g., in a payroll service provider, consultancy firm or specialised law firm)
demonstrated experience in conducting a constructive social dialogue and in negotiating deals with social partners in fast moving environments
demonstrated experience in dealing with complex legal cases
Furthermore,
you show you are able to deal with a variety of stakeholders, from social partners to C-level leadership
you are fluent in French, Dutch and English, both spoken and written
you have strong problem-solving skills and can translate theory into pragmatic and applicable advice
you are enthusiastic and a team player
