ING Australia are looking to hire an experienced line 2 risk manager on a 12M FTC to support our Core Banking programme of work.


This Senior Manager role forms part of the second line of defence and is a strategic role in the Bank in ensuring there is appropriate review, challenge and advisory over risks delivered as a result of significant change initiatives.

You will combine expertise in both IT and non-financial risk management to support our Core Banking change initiative with 2LOD risk deliverables, change initiatives that require 2LOD NFR review, challenge and approvals with a specific focus on information and technology, continuity and data risk

This is a multi-year program of work and is an opportunity to join the bank in a significant period of change on one of our most critical projects.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Core Banking change initiative with 2LOD risk deliverables in particular, change initiatives that require 2LOD NFR review, challenge and approvals with a specific focus on information and technology, continuity and data risk
  • Assist the TRM Lead, ORM Lead and Head of NFR in the overall and ongoing development, embedding and management of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business which includes but not limited to training and knowledge sharing across teams on various risk topics
  • Contribute to operational risk reporting including but not limited to, the business unit’s Non-financial Risk profile, emerging risks and effectiveness of the Non-Financial Risk Management Framework including associated policies and procedures.


What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Risk, Compliance and/or Audit background.
  • Financial Services background with minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing teams
  • Sound knowledge of retail banking products
  • Sound understanding of operational and technology risk including the frameworks and in practice
  • Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction of the Bank and role of risk management in achieving objectives
  • Awareness of current industry threats, trends and issues that potentially affect the Bank's business
